Whether you are working on an electric utility or a fiber jobsite, the RT70 ride-on trencher helps operators navigate the biggest obstacles on the job. Not only does this powerhouse of a trencher feature the maneuverability and power you need to complete the most complex jobs, but the RT70 model provides comfort for your operators, additional safety and visibility, and increased efficiency to help you meet even the tightest deadlines. In this edition of the Ditch Witch West blog, we want to take a look at all the incredible features of the RT70 ride-on trencher.

Maximum Power & Maneuverability

Looking for a ride-on trencher that can handle heavy-duty jobs without sacrificing maneuverability? The RT70 combines a powerful 72hp Yanmar® Tier 4 Stage V Compliant diesel engine with a narrow footprint that’s perfect for tough jobs on tight job sites. Its low center of gravity allows for increased stability, production, and rebar. Plus, its modular design allows you to quickly switch between tires and tracks, which saves you time and labor for increased productivity and profitability.

Additional Comfort & Convenience

The more comfortable your operators are, the more productive they can be. That’s why the RT70 ride-on trencher features an ergonomically designed operator station with more leg room, a 120-degree swivel seat, intuitive controls, and a patented centrifugal cooling system that moves the hot, uncomfortable exhaust away from the operator’s station for a cooler, more comfortable operating experience. Not only will this cooling system help keep your operators safe by preventing them from overheating, but the additional comfort will help them stay focused and content during long days.

Increased Productivity

The RT70 ride-on trencher is the only ride-on trencher available with crab and coordinated steering modes. While other trenchers feature two separate steering levers, this model allows operators to turn the machine with a steering wheel, which frees them up to focus on other parts of the job. In addition to   the ease of steering, the RT70 ride-on trencher features an advanced cruise-control system that accurately senses engine load and automatically adjusts the machine’s speed to changing soil conditions for superior traction, maneuverability, and safety.

Enhanced Visibility

Unlike other models, the RT70 ride-on trencher uses an open layout and 120-degree swivel seat to give operators a complete view of the machine. Not only does this help keep everyone on the jobsite safe, but it can help operators of any skill level increase productivity to help you meet tight deadlines and increase profitability.

Simplified Maintenance

Keep up to date on daily maintenance points with the 4.3-inch color LCD engine display that conveniently provides all engine information and diagnostics in one place. If something does go wrong, the single-piece, easy-open hood gives you fast access, so you will not waste time on repairs.
