Jet Trac Safety Tips

 

 

 

It is vital to hold a safety meeting to insure your crews follow these below procedures/recommendations:

 

 

 

  • Never are within 6 feet, minimum, of the drill rod or conduit being pulled any time the rig is running.
  • Never enter any pit, at any time, unless the drill rig is “off”.
  • Never use the machine torque/power/rotation to make up or break out tooling, (reamers, housing, etc.).
  •  Never use pipe wrenches and machine rotation to make up or breakout tooling.
  • Always insure all utilities have been potholed prior to boring/crossing and call 811 two weeks prior for locates of the existing underground facilities.
  • Appreciate the tremendous power of the drill rig at all times and heed all warnings in the Operator Manual and decals on the rigs.
  • Every operator/locator should read the Operator’s Manual, 100%, front to back, and watch the safety videos available from Ditch Witch.

  • Mix drilling fluids properly to insure a safe and complete bore.
  • Go to www.ditchwitch.com and use the Drilling Fluid Formulator to determine proper chemical mixes for the environments they are working in.
  • Have good two way radio communications and absolutely understand emergency shutdown procedures.   Call 911 in the event of any utility hit and shut the unit immediately if a gas strike.  Stay on the rig until the ESS box indicates all clear if an electric strike.  Keep all bystanders clear of the area.
  • Insure units are securely stowed and tied down on the trailers.
  • Make sure lug nuts are tight, and tires properly inflated on all trailers.
  • Cone off and barrier tape the work site.
  • Stake the units down with both anchors, to full depth, for proper grounding.
  • Insure their Electrical Strike System box is working 100%.
  •  Wear boots and gloves when boring around or over electricity.
  • Don’t exceed the bend radius of the drill rod.
  • Use the EZ Connects and Quick Wrenches designed for use with the rigs, per the Operator’s Manual.  (No need for open end wrenches).

Es muy importante tener una junta de seguridad para asegurar su tripulación siga estos procedimientos abajo:

 

 

 

  •  Nunca esté dentro de 6 pies, mínimo, de vara de taladro o conducto está jalando cualquier hora la máquina está trabajando.
  •  Nunca entre cualquier hoyo, a cualquier hora, a menos que el taladro está “apagado”.
  •  Nunca use torque/poder/rotación compensar o fuga de mecanizado. (escariadores, envoltura, etc.)

  •  Siempre asegure todas utilidades tienen baches antes taladrando y llame 811 dos semanas antes para los localizas de los facilidades metros.

  •  Mezcle líquidos para el taladro apropiadamente para asegurar un taladrado seguro y completo.
  •  Vaya a www.ditchwitch.com y use Los Líquidos de Taladrando Formulador para determinar combinaciones químicas apropiadas para los medios ambientes dónde los están trabajando.
  •  Tenga buena comunicación de radio y absolutamente entienda los procedimientos de emergencia a apagar la máquina.
  •  Asegure unidades están seguramente amarrados y guardados en el remolque.
  •  Asegure “lug nuts” (tuercas) están apretados, y las llantas están hinchados apropiadamente en todos remolques.
  •  Use conos y cinta de barrera hacer una barrera alrededor el sitio de trabajo.
  •  Arrodrigue los unidades con los dos anclas a profundidad máxima para molió apropiado.

  •  Es obligatorio usar guantes y botas mientras taladrando alrededor y por encima electricidad
  •  No sobre pase el radio de curva de la vara de taladro.
